There are five fishing lakes on this lush Essex site, home of over 100 pegs and stuffed with specimens of roach, bream, barbel, rudd and carp of up to 22lb. Fishing is via day tickets bought from the Colemans Cottage tackle shop, where you can also top up your kit, buy bait, or swap tales of whoppers and fishing tips with the expert staff.
And if you’re not a fishing sort? Also sorted: Colemans is a mile and a half from the village of Witham, from which you can reach Colchester in 15 minutes’ drive in one direction and Chelmsford in 25 minutes in the other for days of shopping and sightseeing. Maldon and Mersea Island are within easy reach too, as is Southend for days at the Essex coast.

There are a total of five mega pods available sleeping 2 people with one double bed and one single bed.
They each contain a kitchenette with essential items such as kettle, crockery,
toaster, fridge. There are also en-suite facilities within the mega pods design to
ensure all essential needs are met along with fresh linen.
Check in from 2pm and check out by 11am on your leaving day.

Local Area
Based in the South East of England the weather is generally good during the spring
and summer months allowing you to enjoy a sunny stay fishing or exploring the area walking or visiting the local attractions that Essex has to offer.
In contrast in the Colder months cosy up and enjoy a quiet and peaceful break with that special someone overlooking the lake.
Within the local area of Essex there are many attractions and sites to see for example Colchester Zoo, Chelmsford Cathedral and Freeport designer shopping village Braintree to name just
a few.
In Witham the nearest town to the fishery there are a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy just a few minutes drive away from the site and a garage within a quarter of a mile.
Maldon is a town 10 minute drive on the Blackwater estuary in Essex, England.
It is the seat of the Maldon District and starting point of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
It is most renowned for Maldon Sea Salt which is produced in the area.
The city of Chelmsford is also only a 20 minute
journey away surprising close considering the quiet and idyllic site we provide to
our guests and the historical town of Colchester with its castle steep in history just
25 minute drive away.
